Cheap packing Tape
There’s being frugal, then there’s being so unreasonably cheap that you end up on TLC’s reality series “Extreme Cheapskates.” Matt, an aspiring professional wrestler, is the latter.
Instead of going to a salon for his grooming needs — or even buying at-home tools — he waxes using what looks like packing tape. Instead of paying for an expensive gym membership, he works out with makeshift barbells fashioned from broomsticks and milk gallons. Instead of buying new equipment, he uses a cup he borrowed from another wrestler and boots so beat up he tapes them to his body every time he wears them.
“Matt really balances the cost of being a wrestler with his overall cheapness, ” says his brother in Zap2it’s exclusive sneak peek of the episode, airing Wednesday (Nov. 13) at 9 p.m. ET/PT on TLC.
It adds up: “For a wrestler, you can easily spend thousands and thousands within a month. But for me, I’m careful and I only spend about a thousand per year being creative, ” Matt says.
