Small White cardboard boxes
We do not recommend you reuse old cardboard boxes when you move, especially if you are moving a long distance. We don’t sell boxes, so this is not a sales pitch. We just don’t think it’s a good idea. Here’s our two top reasons why:
They may have bugs.
Small bugs and roaches can easily hide in the tiny tunnels that make up corrugated cardboard. If the boxes have been stored for a long time in a storage unit, a shed, or a garage… they probably have bugs. You really don’t want to move those with you, do you?
They are not as strong as they use to be.
Moving can weaken the structural integrity of the box, especially if the box held heavy things. A used box is simply not going to be as strong as a new one. If it was stored in a bug-free place and you really want to use it, don’t put anything heavy, breakable, or valuable in it.
